BOXING

Boxing is misunderstood by people who do not box.

Boxing is the ultimate sport for countering stress. The combination of strength training and aerobic workout provides the best of both worlds, in terms of feeling a muscular pump and stimulating the cardiovascular system - both of which enhance your well-being.

Possessing the skills to look after yourself provides a significant amount of confidence. Despite what most people think, boxers do not seek confrontation just because they have the ability to fight. After a hard training session in the gym, the last thing they would want is to get into a street fight. You do not see Michael Schumacher driving through town at 200 miles an hour. He only does that on the race track!

Boxing is not a team sport where if you slack off a little, a team member can help you out. In boxing, there is no one else to depend on but yourself.

Boxing is a skill sport that takes years to learn! You do not "play" boxing, as you play other sports. It takes a warrior to step between those ropes to compete. It is impossible to understand and appreciate boxing, until you have stepped into the ring and experienced the sport first hand!
